Job description

Under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance, the A&P Helicopter Maintenance Technician maintains the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner with emphasis on compliance with the FAA and evaluates the services offered by the organization with the aim of continuously improving the quality of products and services.

Responsabilities

  • Inspect and repair aircraft according to strict safety guidelines set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or applicable regulatory body.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and perform diagnostic tests to identify hydraulic and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Consult maintenance blueprints, manuals, and other documents to assist with troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Keeping detailed records of all repairs and work performed on the aircraft in accordance with the repair station guidelines.
  • Inventory aircraft parts, supplies, and equipment, and keep detailed records of inspections, repairs, and other maintenance operations.
  • Complete tasks within allotted time frames and to FAA (or equivalent) and company standards.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics and engineers to perform repairs and ensure aircraft are operating smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Must be familiar with using test equipment for track and balance.
  • Interpreting Airworthiness Directives and Alert Service Bulletins for application on helicopters.
  • Familiar with using measuring instruments such as dial calipers, micrometers, tensiometers, dial bore gauges, feeler gauges, and borescopes.
  • – 3+ years’ experience as a helicopter mechanic, with at least 2 years on designated helicopters (Airbus – AS350, EC130, EC135, EC145, BK117; Agusta –109, 119, 139, 169; Bell – 206, 407, 429, 412; MD – 500).
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
  •  Familiarity with aviation maintenance manuals.
  • Must have your own tools.
  • Airframe & Powerplant license. REQUIRED
  • Inspection and Authorization License.  PREFERRED
  • Any OEM school training within the past 4 years.
  • Experience working on civilian, commercial and military helicopter.
  • Some travel will be required.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
